Fishing licence

Our boats have fishing licences from the Faroese Ministry of Fisheries.

The licence grants fishing with fishing rod and with the traditional handline “snøri”.

No fish can be thrown back to the sea after it is dead.

The catch can not be sold or given others with the aim of profit.

The limit that each person can catch and take home in one year is 60kgs in round weight (ungutted).

The sailing and fishing must stay clear, by a distance of at least 50 metres, of installations such as salmon cages in the fiords.

Boat.fo is required, by law, to report catches of fish (quantities and species) to the fisheries authorities for record keeping.
